KPOP sensation f(x) will be performing at SXSW 2013. Fans in the United States can look forward to seeing the high energy band, as well as the Korean rock band Galaxy Express.
SM Entertainment’s girl group f(x) has been noted for having Korean-American member Krystal and Taiwanese-American member Amber, whose fluency in English are almost unmatched by any other KPOP idols. The fact that two of the members will be able to effectively communicate with an English speaking audience will make this performance outstanding.
Korean rock trio Galaxy Express, has performed at SXSW in 2011 and 2012.In 2012, Galaxy Express embarked on their second United States tour and released their third, self-titled album Galaxy Express. With musical influences ranging from rock, psychedelic, and punk, Galaxy Express will definitely be an act to catch at SXSW. KPOP fans in the United States have been expressing the desire to see their favorite acts outside of Los Angeles and New York. Finally, they will have an opportunity to see major KPOP acts represented alongside artists performing indie rock, indie pop, electronic dance music, and other notable genres. KPOP has definitely been gaining notoriety with the hipster movement in the past year. SXSW (South by Southwest) is a mega music festival which is held annually in one of the hippest cities in the world, Austin, Texas.
Musical tastemakers, bloggers, and diehard indie fans flock to the festival en mass to witness the some of the best musical acts that can be found worldwide. SXSW has helped the city of Austin earn the title of “Live Music Capital of the World”. The music portion of the festival takes place over the course of five days. In 2012, the festival featured 547 international acts from 49 different countries. It is great to see KPOP acts represented within the artists selected to perform this year.
The music festival of SXSW (South by Southwest) will be held from March 12 through March 17, 2013 at various locations throughout Austin, Texas.
